About Absolute Dental

You’ll see one of our four general dentists: Dr. Michael Wu, Dr. Harriet Thomas, Dr. Ella Chen or Dr. Lisa Liu. A dentist must be registered with Ahpra to practise in Australia, and you can check any dentist yourself on the public Ahpra register of practitioners.

Dr. Michael Wu has a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Western Australia and welcomes questions from patients who feel nervous. Dr. Harriet Thomas has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Bristol, began a career in Cardiff and moved to Perth in 2023. Dr. Ella Chen has a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Western Australia, and works in preventive, restorative and emergency dentistry. Dr. Lisa Liu completed dental training at the University of Sydney.

A registration number appears on this website only after it matches the public Ahpra register. If a number isn’t shown for a dentist, ask our team to confirm it. We don’t rank our dentists, and we can’t promise a particular dentist on a particular day, so tell our team when you book if you’d like a certain person.

No. Holistic describes how we plan care, not a qualification or a dental specialty. The Dental Board of Australia lists 13 dental specialties, and holistic dentistry isn’t one of them, so our dentists don’t say they specialise in it.

At Absolute Dental, it means our general dentists ask about your sleep, breathing, food and preferred materials as well as your teeth. You hear your options with their risks and costs, and when an old silver filling has to come out, we use extra steps to limit vapour and particles. It also means we say plainly what dentistry can’t do.

We follow mainstream Australian guidance. Replacing sound silver fillings hasn’t been shown to improve general health (ADA Policy 6.18, 2026), and a doctor, not a dentist, diagnoses sleep apnoea. If something sounds medical, we’ll point you to your GP. Ahpra’s advertising rules ask practices to back claims with acceptable evidence and to be clear about risk. You’re welcome to ask what any recommendation is based on.

Dr. Michael Wu and Dr. Ella Chen speak English and Mandarin. The profiles for Dr. Harriet Thomas and Dr. Lisa Liu don’t list another language, so if you need one, ask our team.

If you’d prefer to speak Mandarin, tell our team when you book, and ask which dentist is available and when. We can’t promise a particular dentist or time, but we’ll tell you what we can offer. We don’t list an interpreter service on this website, so ask our team what’s possible before your visit.

For anything you need to understand clearly, such as your options, costs and what you’re agreeing to, you can ask us to slow down, explain again or put the plan in writing. You’re welcome to bring a family member or friend to your visit. Tell our team about any access or communication needs when you book, and they’ll talk it through with you.

Absolute Dental is at 1/34 Outram St, West Perth WA 6000, and we see patients of all ages from across Perth. Appointments are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–8:00pm, by appointment only, and we’re closed on Saturday and Sunday. We’ve been looking after patients across Perth since 1988.
