HICAPS
We send eligible health fund claims from reception, and you leave knowing your gap.
HBF · Know your cover before you come
We take part in HBF Members’ Plus. Here’s how your extras cover could apply to a visit.

We take part in HBF Members’ Plus. Ahead of your appointment we can give you our fees and the item numbers, which you can check with HBF, so you know your position before any care starts.
What To Check FirstWhat To Expect At Your VisitAn expected rebate makes planning easier. Your level of cover and the services you have decide the benefit.
Ask HBF what benefit those item numbers would earn.
Set your estimated rebate against our fee before you agree to treatment.
Ask HBF about your waiting periods, limits and extras balance. We can supply treatment item numbers when they’re available.
Say you’re an HBF member when you book, and ask for an estimate of any planned care.
Go over your oral health, the care that suits you and the fees before you decide.
Bring it physically or as a supported digital card, so eligible claims can go through HICAPS.
An approved benefit reduces the fee. When electronic claiming isn’t possible, take an itemised receipt to HBF.
Your policy sets which dental services and benefits you get. We can give you an itemised estimate to take to HBF.
Check your cover with HBFMembership alone doesn’t confirm a dental benefit. Read your extras policy for the waiting periods and limits that apply to the care proposed.
Your payment depends on the practice fee and the benefit HBF approves for your policy and treatment. Participation in HBF Members’ Plus does not establish a fixed gap for every crown or wisdom tooth procedure. Ask us for the proposed dental item numbers, the treating practitioner and an itemised estimate. Give those details to HBF and ask for a benefit quote, including waiting periods, remaining limits and any service restrictions. For a crown, ask which preparation and final-restoration items are included. For wisdom teeth, ask whether separate specialist, anaesthetic or hospital costs are involved. Check those separate costs with the relevant provider and HBF rather than applying one dental benefit to the entire episode. Ask whether the fund’s estimate could change with timing or other claims. Our team explains the treatment and its fee; HBF confirms what your cover will pay. You can then plan around the expected out-of-pocket amount before you agree to proceed.
Wondering about HBF? Our team explains your treatment, its fees and what to check before you book, and there’s no pressure to decide on the spot.
